Coast
to Coast Accommodation
Meet Doreen
Whitehead
If Wainwright, who devised the Coast to Coast,
is King of the walk, then Doreen surely is Queen. As a guesthouse owner,
based at Keld in the Yorkshire Dales (a Coast
to Coast stopover), she published the first accommodation
list for walkers almost 15 years ago. What Doreen and her husband Ernest
don't know about bed and breakfast, from St. Bees to Robin Hood's Bay,
isn't worth knowing. We are delighted that she has agreed to share this
information with you, from her 2007
edition of the guide.
